About Me...

Okay, so I'm obviously feeling a little blog crazy today. I don't know why-it's not like I don't have a million other things to do (I can't even get into my laundry room without trouble), but sometimes it's fun to just relax. Sorry laundry, you'll have to wait until tomorrow! I was reading one of my friend's blogs and noticed her last entry was entitled "50 things about me". Well, I don't know that I could keep anyone's attention long enough for 50 (myself included), but I figured I could jot down 25 at least!

1. I LOVE being a mother. There is so much joy and pleasure I get out of my two girls and I could not imagine life without them!
2. I love to read.
3. Calla Lillies are my favorite flower.
4. I am not a fan of cheese!
5. If I could live anywhere in the world I would probably choose a winter home in Disneyland (yes, right there in the park!), and a summer home in the Caribbean.
6. I have the three most awesome sisters in the world.
7. I always grew up wishing for long hair. Still hasn't happened yet and probably won't unless I get extensions.
8. I have an uncanny ability to tell when someone isn't being sincere. It drives me insane sometimes because it's all I can do to not call them on it.
9. I do not like false modesty. It isn't becoming!
10. I do not like confrontation, but if you push me far enough be prepared for what's coming to you.
11. My favorite color is purple.
12. "You Are My Sunshine" is one of my all-time favorite songs. I sing it to my girls when I get them ready for bed.
13. My favorite dessert is chocolate cake made with Devil's Food cake! Yummy!
14. I love riding horses.
15. My cousin Natalie is one of the people I most admire in this world.
16. I love to play cards with Eric and my family.
17. Summer is my favorite season.
18. I DO NOT like to talk about money. I don't want to listen to others talk about their money and what they have. I honestly don't care. I'd rather learn more about the individual than what they feel their net worth is.
19. I've never had a broken bone. (knock on wood)
20. I am not a fan of candy in any form.
21. I love the ocean.
22. I love to talk politics with my father. He's very smart when it comes to that stuff and I trust his opinion completely.
23. Being in Real Estate, you learn very quickly who your truest and most supportive friends are. It's really quite surprising!
24. I hope someday to travel to Greece.
25. I used to dream of being an animator for Disney.

It's a Bird, It's a Plane, wait...it's just a bald man!

Eric, Haylie and Mikaela-before the carnage!

This is what happens when boredom takes over at our house.

I'm not sure I'd trust Haylie to cut my hair.

The finished product! Daddy Warbucks, eat your heart out!

I know what you're all thinkin'-Hands off my man! While he may look incredibly hot, he's taken, ladies! :) Please everyone, pray for his hair to grow back really, really fast!

Scraped Noses=Child Labor?

While on my continuing quest for Mother of the Year award, here's my latest effort to claim the title. Don't ask me how this happened! One minute she was sitting daintily on the cement steps out front, perfectly perched and squealing happily, the next minute she was rolling sideways down to the landing! (I think she's going to take after her Aunt Ewee in the grace department.) Poor kid, she cried for a couple of minutes, but in true Mikaela form, as soon as the binky was presented she sucked it up and moved on to sweeping the driveway. Yeah, nothing like a good cleaning session to make you feel better.

Check Out My Grass!

Yay for grass! How I have missed you so! It is so nice to have some again and although our backyard is still the dirt pit, at least I have something green to look at in the front yard! Woo hoo.

Dallin's Home, Mother's Day, Twins' Birthday

Last week was a busy week and I must say, although it was fun, I'm glad it's over! My sister, Dallin, returned home from her mission in Argentina last Saturday and she looks fabulous! It was awesome to see her come home and reunite with her twin sister, Darby! Mikaela was too small to remember Dallin before she left, so it was pretty funny to watch her reaction when she realized she was seeing double. I don't think she's figured it out yet, she's just accepted that fact that Darby has somehow doubled. Haylie was excited to see her and ran to her as soon as Dallin stepped off the escalator. It was very cute. I'm just glad she's home, she's healthy, and she's happy! Welcome home, Dallin!

On top of all that-Sunday was Darby and Dallin's birthday! It also happens to be my sister-in-law's birthday as well! Happy birthday to all of you-Darby, Dallin and Alenna.

Mother's Day was a busy, hectic, church-filled day. Dallin's homecoming, lots of yummy food, and then it was back to our ward for more church and Mrs. Cavanaugh's chocolates from the bishopric! All in all, not a bad week.

What I Stand For

I really liked this video and it has a great message! Working with the Young Women always inspires me to be better and to work on improving myself to be worthy to be a leader for them. This speaks to what I stand for. Can you believe a 15-year-old young woman put this together? Amazing!
